We're back...

So after two 8-hr plane rides, and a stop in Amsterdam and Rwanda we have arrived in Uganda! We spent the night at a Holy Cross house in Kampala- with wifi, who would have thought!  Although it will take some getting used to sleeping under a bed net again and avoiding the sink water to brush my teeth, I am happy to be back.  One more 6hr plus drive to get to Kyarusozi- we're almost there!

Uganda here I come...

So the day is almost here- I will be leaving for Uganda, Africa tomorrow to go work in a small clinic with the Sisters of the Holy Cross. This will be my third time to the clinic, but this time I will be staying longer then I have before. I have gotten all my vaccines, started my malaria pills, and left a job I loved to begin a new adventure. I am sure there will be many highs and lows on this trip as I adjust to living and working in a new place and new culture, but I hope to keep the words of the closing song from this past Sunday's mass in mind during my time abroad- "go in peace to serve the, in peace to serve the world. Take the love of God, the love of God with you as you go."
